Charles Erskine McDermott, Jr

Charles Erskine McDermott, Jr., 84, of the Marlow community died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church with Rev. Juan Carlos Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.

Mr. McDermott was born September 4, 1925 in Milam County to Charles Erskine and Elizabeth Lowe (Griffin) McDermott. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a rancher and farmer. He also worked at the Cameron Auction Barn. A son, Paul McDermott preceded him in death.

Brother G. B. McDermott and wife Betty of Marlow
Sister Elizabeth Cole and husband Spencer of Marlow

8 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren

Memorials may be made to St. Monica’s Chatholic Church or the Marlow Cemetery.
